The Brains Behind Detroit Tiny Homes Inspires Ford Employees

Cass Community Social Services Executive Director, Rev. Faith Fowler, discusses a relationship-based approach to giving on the Ford Curious Minds stage

DEARBORN, Mich. — Cass Community Social Services is a Detroit-based nonprofit that has received national attention through its Tiny Homes project. Led by Executive Director Rev. Faith Fowler, the nonprofit continues to innovate with their clients in mind.

Recently, Rev. Fowler was invited to speak to Ford employees as part of the Ford Curious Minds speaker series. This series brings in subject matter experts to Ford, giving employees license to explore topics that go beyond automotive and help unlock their creative potential.

During the discussion, Rev. Fowler talked about how Cass Community Social Services is looking to solve complex problems like housing and homelessness. Like many nonprofits, Cass Community looks to volunteers to help get the job done. Rev. Fowler emphasized throughout the conversation the importance of treating people with dignity, and how to become the best steward and volunteer for an organization when you build a relationship and listen to clients.
