Spotlight: Nonprofits Meet Unique Disaster Response Needs

Ford Disaster Relief Mobility Challenge winners receive custom Ford Transits to provide emergency relief and response

DEARBORN, Mich. — As the heart of the Atlantic hurricane season is fast approaching and we embark on National Preparedness Month in September, Ford Fund is spotlighting nonprofits committed to providing emergency response services in disaster-prone areas across the country.

In 2018, Ford Fund hosted its second Ford Disaster Relief Mobility Challenge, giving U.S. nonprofits the opportunity to design and win a Ford Transit specially outfitted to meet their unique emergency and disaster response needs.

In this collection of stories, we highlight the four winning nonprofits — learning more about their mission and the dedicated first responders that are on the ground when help is needed most.
