Over 30 middle school students attend a career day at Ford’s Greenfield Labs
PALO ALTO, Calif. — The Ford Fund, in partnership with the Ford Greenfield Labs and San Francisco Ford Regional Sales Office, hosted a hands-on Career Day on July 17 in Ford’s Palo Alto facilities for over 30 bay area middle school students from the Aim High Summer Enrichment Program.
All children experience summer learning loss, but low-income students fare much worse without access to enrichment activities that keep their brains and bodies engaged. For the second year in a row, over 15 local Ford volunteers hosted students for a three-hour interactive learning program which included creating a life map and setting personal and professional career goals, a tech demonstration from the drone team, and a scavenger hunt to learn more about the employees working in the lab. Students were given the opportunity to meet with local employees to learn about what they do for the company and the steps needed to have a career at Ford.
