Memorial Day Kicks-off "100 Deadliest Days" for Teen Drivers

DEARBORN, Mich. — Memorial Day officially kicks off summer in the U.S. Sadly, it also starts the 100 deadliest days for teen drivers. Research tells us why: Young people spend more time driving to seasonal jobs and social events, often at night and with extra passengers. Inexperience behind the wheel and youthful temptations to push boundaries add to the lethal mix.

Ford Driving Skills for Life — Ford Fund's safe driving program for teen drivers — urges parents and other adults to take an active role in talking to teens about the dangers of risky behavior.

We've put together eight important areas of discussion to help you get the conversation started with your teen driver, encouraging everyone to have a safe and fun summer.
