The FREC has been a central community hub for the neighborhood for more than a decade bringing nonprofit partners together under one roof to offer critical services and programs. The Center has been a critical gathering place for our partners to deliver services, from a client choice food pantry, legal assistance, income tax preparation, education and job initiatives to hosting cultural celebrations with friends and neighbors each year.
After March 15, FREC Southwest will transition its operations from the Mexicantown Mercado (2826 Bagley St. Detroit, MI 48216) to multiple access points and locations, which enables us to expand our reach in the Southwest community.
Our commitment to Southwest Detroit and the broader metro Detroit area remains unwavering, with our top priority being to support the community and ensure that residents of Southwest Detroit continue to receive the services they count on.
